Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

These terms apply to drywall repair, installation, finishing, and related services provided by Great Lakes Drywall to customers in Illinois. By requesting an estimate or scheduling work with us, you agree to the terms below.

Estimates and pricing

Estimates are free and based on the information, photos, and site access available at the time of the quote. Prices shown on this website are typical Illinois ranges for planning purposes only and are not offers. Written estimates are valid for 30 days. If hidden conditions appear once work begins (water damage, mold, failed framing, asbestos-containing texture, or code issues), we stop, document the condition, and provide a written change order before continuing.

Scheduling and access

Start dates are estimates and can shift because of weather, material availability, inspections, or other trades on site. You agree to provide safe access to the work area, working power and water, and to clear or protect furniture and valuables unless protection is written into the scope. Joint compound cure times mean most repairs require more than one visit.

Payment

Payment terms are stated on your estimate or invoice. Larger projects may require a deposit for materials, with the balance due on completion. Late balances may accrue reasonable interest as permitted by Illinois law.

Workmanship warranty

We warrant our workmanship against defects in taping, finishing, and installation for one year from completion. The warranty does not cover damage from structural settlement, foundation movement, roof or plumbing leaks, humidity outside normal residential ranges, impact damage, or work altered by others. Manufacturer warranties on panels, compounds, and coatings pass through to you.

Texture, paint, and color matching

We match texture as closely as practical and test on scrap before applying to your wall. Aged paint, sun fading, and discontinued textures mean an exact match cannot be guaranteed on a spot repair; wall-to-corner or full-surface repainting is the only way to guarantee a seamless result and is quoted separately.

Dust, debris, and cleanup

Drywall work produces dust. Standard scope includes plastic containment, floor protection, and removal of construction debris. Fine-dust deep cleaning, duct cleaning, and post-construction detailing are available as add-ons.

Cancellations

You may cancel or reschedule at no charge up to 48 hours before your start date. Cancellations inside 48 hours may be billed for custom-ordered materials and crew time already committed.

Limitation of liability

Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the services at issue. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including loss of use or lost income. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Illinois law.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. We may update them from time to time; the version in effect on your estimate date governs your project. Questions about these terms can be sent through our contact page.
