Sheetrock is a USG brand name for gypsum board. Everything a drywall contractor does, we do for Sheetrock - patching, hanging, taping, finishing, texture matching.
We feather compound wide, sand between coats, and match your existing texture so the repair disappears once painted - not a patch you can spot from across the room.
Standard 1/2" for most walls, 5/8" for ceilings and garages, moisture-resistant for bathrooms, Type-X where fire code requires. We spec correctly the first time.
We identify the source, coordinate dry-out, cut back to sound framing, replace insulation where needed, and rebuild with new Sheetrock finished to match.
Dust barriers, floor protection, HEPA vac cleanup. Your family shouldn't be breathing joint compound dust for a week.
Serving Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Highland Park, Deerfield, Buffalo Grove, and Schaumburg. Fast estimates, real schedules, work that holds up through freeze-thaw and summer humidity.
Yes. Sheetrock is a registered brand name owned by USG (United States Gypsum) - it's their line of gypsum wallboard. The name became so common that many homeowners use "Sheetrock" to mean any drywall, the way people say Kleenex for tissue. Whether your home was built with USG Sheetrock, National Gypsum Gold Bond, CertainTeed, or any other brand, the repair and installation process is identical. Our crews work with all major gypsum-board brands.
Doorknob holes, drywall anchors that pulled through, cracks along seams and corners, popped screws and nails, sagging ceilings, punctures from moving furniture, damage from removed shelving or TV mounts, and full sections destroyed by leaks or impacts. Small holes (under 6") get a patch and three-coat feather. Larger holes get a backed patch or full-panel section replacement with taped seams. Cracks along seams are re-taped rather than just skimmed - a skim coat over a moving crack always fails.
For new Sheetrock installation we handle framing walk-throughs, panel takeoff, delivery coordination, hanging (ceilings first, staggered seams, screws set flush), corner bead, and taping/finishing to your specified finish level. Common projects: finished basements, room additions, garage conversions, whole-house remodels, and post-water-damage rebuilds. We coordinate directly with your GC, framer, plumber, and electrician so the hang date lines up with rough inspection sign-off.
Wet Sheetrock stays weak even after it dries and often grows mold behind the paper. We cut damaged panels back to the nearest stud past visible staining, check the framing and insulation for moisture, dry or replace insulation, and install fresh panels finished to match. If the source (roof, plumbing, appliance) is still leaking, we flag it before we rebuild - patching over an active leak is a repeat job.
Most Illinois homes have knockdown, orange peel, or light hand-troweled texture on walls and ceilings. A flat patch on a textured wall is more obvious than the original damage. We match your existing texture with the right spray equipment and technique, then blend the paint edge so the repair reads as original wall - not a patch someone tried to hide.
Send photos or book a site visit. We give a firm written quote - patch scope, panel spec, finish level, and price.
Plastic dust barriers, floor covering, and furniture moved or covered before any cutting starts.
Cut back to sound material, install patch or new panels, tape seams, and coat with joint compound.
Sand smooth, match existing texture, HEPA vacuum the workspace, and walk you through the finished repair.

Yes. Sheetrock is USG's brand name for gypsum wallboard - the same product every other manufacturer calls drywall or gypsum board. The names are used interchangeably. Any drywall contractor works with Sheetrock.
Small patches (holes under 6") typically run $150-$350 including feathering and texture match. Larger holes or single-panel replacements run $300-$700. Full-room rebuilds after water damage are quoted after a site visit because scope depends on framing and insulation condition.
Hang and finish together typically runs $2.25-$4.50 per square foot across Illinois, with new construction on the lower end and remodels with heavy prep on the higher end. Level 5 finish (for critical-light or gloss paint) adds cost.
Yes - knockdown, orange peel, smooth Level 5, and light hand-troweled textures are all matched routinely. Older or unusual textures are matched from a test panel we blend before touching your wall.
For small patches with quick-set compound, same day. For larger repairs using standard joint compound, plan on 24 hours between coats and a full day for the final coat to dry before priming and painting.
Yes - we cut out damaged panels, check framing and insulation, coordinate with your plumber or roofer to stop the source if it's still active, replace insulation as needed, and rebuild with new Sheetrock finished to match.
1/2" for most interior walls on 16" o.c. framing, 5/8" for ceilings and garages, moisture-resistant panels for bathrooms and laundry rooms, and Type-X fire-rated where code requires (garage-to-living-space walls, some multi-family situations).
Yes. Lake-effect humidity swings, freeze/thaw cycles, and dry winter forced-air heat all move drywall subtly. We plan panel acclimation, use appropriate joint compounds for the season, and time coats so seams don't crack when your house cycles from 65% summer humidity to 20% winter humidity.
We serve Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Highland Park, Deerfield, Buffalo Grove, Schaumburg, and communities across northern Illinois. If your project is in Lake County or northern Cook County, we cover it.
